Kicking off our 10 quotes is surely one of the best Disney movie quotes. What’s interesting about this one, is that it comes from a rather insignificant character. The merchant sings the theme “Arabian Nights” and isn’t too interesting until he reveals the Genie’s lamp.
He says this quote referring to the lamp, and wow, he wasn’t being dramatic. He is referencing the way the lamp changed Aladdins life and acts as an almost narrator at the beginning. Like so many Disney quotes, this has such a wider meaning than just its significance to the film.
We live in a world where the inside is often overlooked by the outside. With social media and the world of influencers, we can’t help but pay too much attention to physical appearances. We should all take some advice from the merchant, it’s what’s inside, not what’s outside that counts.
9. “Some people are worth melting for.” – Frozen (2013)
If a quote is going to make you cry, surely it’s this one. Olaf melted all our hearts after saying this.

“To infinity and beyond!” is the most famous quote to come out of Toy Story. The quote at first is simply the catchphrase said by all Buzz Toys. It ends up becoming a personal issue for Buzz Lightyear.
He slowly comes to terms with the fact he is not the hero of the world he thinks he is. “To infinity and beyond” is simply a catchphrase. This realisation actually becomes his mantra. He realises his dedication to being a hero can be targeted at his friends instead, where he does become the hero.
This quote a few years ago was actually known as the greatest movie quote of all time over famous lines like “James, James Bond” and “Say hello to my little friend”. 7. “Miserable, darling, as usual, perfectly wretched.” – 101 Dalmatians (1961)
Our first villain quote on our list and from none other than Cruella de Vil.
101 Dalmatians was actually an adaptation of a 1956 kids novel by Dodie Smith about the kidnapping of a family of dalmatian puppies. For the recent Cruella live-action film, Tallulah Bankhead was the source of inspiration for Cruella. Let’s be honest, Tallulah is basically Cruella in real life with her excessive smoking and queer icon status.
Vanity, greed, and evil combine into Cruella and we love it. She is the perfect balance of style, villain, and a powerful woman. There isn’t a Disney character quote more apt for their character than this one for Cruella.
Not only is Cruella the anti-star of the show, but has become one of the most recognisable villains in culture. Her split dye style is recognisable in a second and inspired countless Halloween costumes.
6. “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.” – Mulan (1998)
It’s expected that the most elegant and beautiful of quotes was to come out of Mulan. Representing a culture that is famous for the way they can string words together, it’s appropriate there are some clever quotes within the film.
What makes this moment even more beautiful is it comes from the emperor himself. Mulan certainly saved China from the Huns. However, she broke a lot of rules and traditions to do it. To us, the rule-breaking might seem insignificant compared to her achievements, but in a country where tradition and social responsibility are so prominent, her achievements could have been overlooked.
Nonetheless, her dedication is recognised and celebrated by the Emperor and all his subjects. Mulan faced challenges that not many have faced. She not only protected her father and village but risked her own life and honour to save china. Facing both the pressures of her country’s traditions and the weight of war on her head, Mulan is successful against all the odds.
5. “Just keep swimming!” – Finding Nemo (2003)
Out of all the best Disney character quotes, this is probably the most famous. “Just keep swimming” is such a simple but powerful quote.
Dory is wonderfully optimistic. As Marlin begins to lose hope, Dory is there to pick him up and remind him not to give up. Marlin knows the journey ahead is dangerous but he has Dory there to keep reminding him of the purpose of the journey, to find Nemo!
This is actually a mantra Dory uses herself. With her memory loss, Dory has had a painfully hard life. A small fish with memory loss in a big ocean stacks up several challenges against her. When facing these challenges, Dory asks, “When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming”. You know what Dory, you’re absolutely right.
Life throws many challenges and blockages at us. We can’t let these issues stop us in our tracks, we need to push through them. In other words, just keep swimming!
4. “If you want to cross the bridge, my sweet, you’ve got to pay the toll.” – The Little Mermaid (1989)
Ursula, Like Edna Mode, is another one of those campy characters with endless quotes. Most are funny and asserting Ursula as the badass she is.
This quote, however, is more mundane than it appears on this surface. Ursula is referring to Arial becoming a human. It is a message that runs true in reality; nothing comes for free. As much as Ursula’s intent is malice, it’s undeniable that she has a soft spot underneath all those tentacles.
You likely didn’t know Ursula is based on a real person. She was inspired by Divine, the drag queen on which the film Pink Flamingos is based. You also likely don’t want to watch this rather controversial film. Let’s just say Ursula paints Divine in a saint light compared to her real character.
3. “Pull the lever Kronk! Wrong Lever! Why do we even have that lever?” – The Emperor’s New Groove (2000)
Out of the Disney movie’s best quotes, this is certainly a fan favourite.
The Emperor’s New Groove is an amazing film. The real star of the show is the evil Yzma, played by none other than Eartha Kitt. This quote is said whilst she and her accomplice, Kronk, attempt to enter their secret laboratory. Yzma ends up falling into a pit of crocodiles instead, upon exiting this pit she finishes the quote with “Why do we even have that lever?”
This comic line was certainly the most remembered aspect of the film and is quoted many times. It has even gone to become popular with a certain water slide. You enter the slide through a tube and the floor collapses beneath your feet. 2. “I never look back, darling! It distracts from the now.” – The Incredibles (2004)
Edna Mode. We don’t need to say anything else really.
Edna Mode is an icon. Her sassy and classy style has maybe even become more famous than The Incredibles films themselves. An iconic Disney movie line was bound to come from this character out of any of them.
“No capes!”, “It will be bold. Dramatic! Heroic!”, “Do you KNOW where he is”, “Helen who?”, really, we could easily write a whole article on just Edna quotes. The reason we have decided to include this one is because of the message behind it.

1. “Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind… or forgotten.” – Lilo & Stitch (2002)
Now, this has got to be the most heartwarming quote out of any movie.
Family morals run true throughout Lilo and Stitch and are a significant part of the plot. Lilo is looked after by her older sister, Tia, after their parents were killed in a car crash. Their bond and Tia’s dedication as a parent figure are admirable from the very start of the film.
When the plot begins to turn sour, Stitch’s capture by Jumba and Pleakley looks certain. Trapped in handcuffs and about to be taken away, Stitch looks to Tia and says this quote. Due to Stitch’s genetic nature of being destructive, Tia struggled with looking after the blue Alien. Upon Stitch saying this quote, Tia realises Sitch is truly part of their family. Knowing what loneliness feels like herself, she realises the pain Sitch must be experiencing. She knows he can’t be left behind despite his nature that he cannot help.
It is not only Stitch who is changed by the message of Ohana but Jumba and Pleakley too. With starting to understand the concept of a family bond, they decide to not only leave Stitch in his new home but become part of the family themselves.
