Indie R&B songstress Asia Ward’s sensational track ‘kill bill’ was released last Friday and is already garnering plenty of interest from fans.
Asia’s dreamy yet alluring indie spin on the original song by SZA is the perfect prelude to her original single due out later this year. We adore Asia’s sonic world, with her emotive, dreamy vocals and catchy indie guitar riffs which have become her signature sound and are helping her gain a growing following.
About Asia Ward
An R&B indie artist from Chicago, Asia Ward is influenced by acts like Lizzy McAlpine, Hailey Knox, and SZA. She brings a mix of bedroom indie and electronic music with an introspective R&B flair.
Asia’s life changed after travelling to NYC for a weekend hosted by Tayla Parx for established singers, producers, and songwriters, with a place for one lucky indie artist to participate.
Inspired by this experience, she packed her stuff into the back of her car and hit the road from LA to Chicago, seeing new sights and dreaming up new music from her bedroom. And since then, she hasn’t looked back.
Sofar Sounds
With planned performances at Sofar Sounds this fall on the 24th of October plus December dates to be confirmed, Asia is set to end the year with a bang ready to hit the ground running for 2024. Sofar Sounds is a unique global music events company that curates a diverse range of artists from different genres and backgrounds. They offer a focus on emerging and raw independent talent and it is a fantastic showcase for Asia Ward.
What’s Next For Asia
Asia’s next original song ‘heartstrings’ – a song about realising a relationship is over, but forgetting why once you are with them – is the follow-up to ‘kill bill’ her fans are excited for, and which is set for release in mid-November 2023.
