He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2005 to pursue his dream of becoming a country music artist.Hayes released his debut album, “Reason to Rhyme,” in 2011. However, it was his 2017 single “You Broke Up with Me” that brought him mainstream success.
The song reached the top 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and was certified platinum by the RIAA.Hayes has since released two more albums, “Boom” in 2017 and “Country Stuff” in 2021. He is known for his unique blend of country, pop, and hip-hop influences in his music. Hayes has also written songs for other country music artists, including “Halloween” by Maddie & Tae and “Shut Up Kenny” by Chris Lane.Hayes has been married to his wife, Laney Beville, since 2004 and they have six children together. These two acts; Story of the Year and Yellowcard are both American rock bands that gained popularity in the early 2000s. Story of the Year formed in St. Louis, Missouri in 1995 and released their debut album, “Page Avenue,” in 2003. The album was a commercial success, with hit singles like “Until the Day I Die” and “Anthem of Our Dying Day.” They continued to release albums throughout the 2000s and 2010s, and are known for their energetic live performances and blend of post-hardcore, emo, and alternative rock.Yellowcard formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1997 and released their debut album, “Midget Tossing,” in 1997.
They gained mainstream success with their fourth album, “Ocean Avenue,” in 2003, which featured the hit title track as well as other popular songs like “Only One” and “Way Away.” Yellowcard’s sound is characterized by their use of violin and cello, which add a unique element to their pop punk and alternative rock sound.
Both Story of the Year and Yellowcard were part of the mid-2000s emo and pop punk scene, and toured together on several occasions. They were both known for their high-energy shows and loyal fan bases. Story of the Year went on hiatus in 2015 but reunited in 2017, while Yellowcard disbanded in 2017 after a farewell tour.
